The self I haven't met, perhaps I can meet
Although I'm getting used to who I've become, I'm still always changing
I don't mean I'm unaccustomed to myself, though, because I'm sure that this is me
So this is the journal of a 22-year-old college student (Sarah). I'm an English major with minors in French and Japanese; I really enjoy learning foreign languages, which generally come fairly easily to me. Right now I know Spanish, French, and Japanese, can speak them all pretty easily, more or less, and plan to start German in 2008 (I took one week of Chinese and enjoyed it but couldn't keep it in my schedule, sadly). I went to Japan in January 2006 and then studied abroad there again the following fall (Tokyo area) and it was amazing. Then I did another semester abroad in Paris (spring 2007) to brush up my French. I've also spent the past two summers in Los Angeles interning with TOKYOPOP's editorial department (I also worked in their Tokyo office when I was there). I'm very glad to be home now. I'm currently finishing up my senior year, and will graduate in May.
Interests and hobbies include TV shows (LOST, Supernatural, Heroes, The Office, Ugly Betty, Veronica Mars), making LJ icons when I feel like it, photography, working on my sites, translating songs and other things, procrastinating, sleeping, and listening to music. I also love books and reading. Personality-wise, I generally have an inherently positive outlook on life, though I do suffer from emo attacks from time to time (I don't like burdening other people with my problems, though, so that won't feature in the LJ much at all). I hate arrogance, so stay away from me if you think you're the best thing ever.
What I write about is mostly just the things that are going on in my life that I feel like I need to remember later, which can range from boring to interesting to humorous, and sometimes feature pictures. I try to be pretty considerate and post stuff other people would like to read and generally do my journal the way I wish everyone would do theirs. It's also mostly friends only, which means that only very few of my posts are public. I suppose my friending policy is that I'm always flattered to be friended, and unless you seem too idiotic/boring/etc, I will most likely add you back. If I haven't after a month or so, however, please take me off your friends list, cause that's just creepy. I also make it a point to read every entry on my friends list and try to comment when I feel like it.
When I think about expressing my feelings,
why do the words suddenly disappear?
Even though I realize what's so precious,
